Using digital services on behalf of another person to become easier in North Savo – Suomi.fi e-Authorizations can be granted to a trusted person at the service desks of Kela and county of North Savo
Starting 16 March, Suomi.fi e-Authorizations can be granted to another person in North Savo. You can grant them at Kela's service desks in Kuopio as well as certain service desks in the wellbeing services county of North Savo. Trusted persons can use Suomi.fi e-Authorizations to manage health, social and tax-related matters as well as pharmacy services in digital services.
The service is designed for persons without online banking IDs or a mobile certificate, and who are therefore excluded from many digital services that facilitate their daily lives.
Authorisation can be granted at service desks by appointment
Kela and the wellbeing services county of North Savo will launch a trial of the service on 16 March. In addition to Kuopio, Kela offers the service in the service desks of Lahti.
The pilot project in the wellbeing services county involves offering services to the customers of the Pyörö health centre in Kuopio, customers of KUH's neurology outpatient clinic as well as customers of the geriatric outpatient clinic for the elderly in Kuopio, Iisalmi and Varkaus.
Suomi.fi e-Authorizations can be granted for pharmacy services, Suomi.fi messages and social and public health services at all service desks. Therefore, the same authorizations can be used in OmaSavo, MyKanta and the OmaKela e-service as well as certain individual public healthcare and social welfare services. In addition, authorization to manage tax matters in MyTax can be granted at Kela's service desks.
Suomi.fi e-Authorizations can also be granted when visiting the Digital and Population Data Services Agency's service desks in Kuopio. In the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, another person can be granted authorisation for over 200 services.
Kela's and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency's service desks in Kuopio are open to all and can be visited regardless of which municipality you live in.
To grant Suomi.fi e-Authorizations, you must make an appointment. The granter must prove their identity during the visit. The person receiving the authorisation does not have to accompany the grantee to the appointment. He or she must be able to manage matters in digital services.
With digital services, supporting your close ones is easy, even when done remotely
With Suomi.fi e-Authorizations, it is easier for a trusted person to support the elderly, for example. They can use digital services to view health details and care instructions as well as make appointments and apply for benefits.
“We at the wellbeing services county of North Savo are deploying the service so that all customers can use services safely and equally, even those lacking a personal device, banking IDs or digital expertise,” describes Project Manager Matti Oksisto.
“When a trusted person has been granted authorisation to manage health-related matters in digital services, the continuity of treatment and flow of information between the nursing staff, patient and their close ones is maintained. With the trusted person's support, social welfare-related matters are also managed,” says Sanna Suomalainen-Ajanko from the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
In addition to the elderly, the service is beneficial for the various persons who cannot for one reason or another use digital services. These include people with disabilities, immigrants and people with substance abuse and mental health issues.
“We at Kela wish to offer an easy alternative for granting Suomi.fi e-Authorizations also to customers lacking the opportunity to use digital services. With the authorization, a trusted person can manage matters online at any time and any place, which often makes everyday life easier,” says Vanessa Koskipalo from Kela.
Suomi.fi e-Authorizations – the safest way to manage affairs on behalf of close family members
Suomi.fi e-Authorizations are a secure and reliable digital solution developed by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency, with which private persons can grant authorization to manage their affairs on their behalf in digital services.
If a person has an online banking ID, mobile certificate or citizen certificate, Suomi.fi e-Authorizations can be granted independently in Suomi.fi As many people do not have the opportunity to use digital services, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency has developed alternative ways of granting Suomi.fi e-Authorizations. North Savo is the ninth wellbeing services county offering the possibility to grant Suomi.fi e-Authorizations in connection with using walk-in services.
