Certificate of personal residence information
You can use a certificate of personal residence information as proof of your current address or previous addresses. You may need this certificate to obtain a parking permit or apply for housing, for example.
Your new address is valid from the date which you gave as the moving date in your notification of change of address. Please note that there may be some delay in the transfer of this information to the Population Information System.
Ordering certificates
You can order a certificate of yourself or another person for an acceptable purpose of use. First, find out what information you need on your certificate and for what purpose. Please provide this information when placing your order.
The following information can be included in a certificate:
- Surname, first names, preferred first name (if any), date of birth, confirmation that the person is alive or date of death, municipality of residence, valid address (permanent, temporary and postal address) and date of moving. A valid non-disclosure for personal safety reasons is also listed on the certificate.
- You may also request the following information: personal identity code, former municipalities of residence, former permanent addresses, former temporary addresses, previous names (all), previous names (from the age of 15) and inactivated identity code.
The certificate will include information according to its intended use.
Other channels for ordering
You can order a certificate via email. Fill in the order form and send the form by encrypted email to [email protected]. You can also include the information of your order in the email itself.
Please include the following in the email:
- your name, date of birth and address
- what information you need on the certificate
- for what purpose you need the certificate

We will send a separate invoice. If the orderer's municipality of residence is not in Finland, we will use advance billing. For in-person visits, you will be required to pay at the service location.

How to obtain your document
The certificate will be sent to you via Suomi.fi Messages, via encrypted e-mail to your preferred address, or by paper mail. You can choose the delivery method yourself when placing the order.
