Selection service for municipalities

The Selection Service is a browser-based tool that allows the selection of data from the Population Information System to perform the municipality's statutory tasks and to contact residents.

The service can be used, for example, to select:

• all residents living in the municipality
• persons of a certain age, such as those turning one hundred
• persons born in a specific year in the municipality
• deceased persons
• persons who have moved to the municipality during a specific year

The individuals selected using the service are always permanent residents of the municipality. Temporary residents (e.g., holiday home owners) cannot be selected through the service.

The permit holder for the selection service can be a municipality, a joint municipal authority, or a consortium of municipalities. The responsible municipality in a municipal consortium can select residents from all municipalities within the consortium.

Please note that the service is subject to a fee, and that the service is only available in Finnish and Swedish.
