Cyber and digital security exercise Taisto prepares hundreds of organisations on how to deal with the threats of the AI era
This year, the largest cyber and digital security exercise in Finland focuses particularly on current risks involving artificial intelligence and deepfake technology, information security breach situations and targeted scam campaigns. During the exercise, organisations learn how to respond to disruptions, how to identify areas needing improvement and confirm their reliability.
“This year’s Digital Security Barometer revealed that 49% of Finns are concerned about the preparedness of Finnish society for dealing with cyberattacks and digital scams. An extensive exercise such as Taisto improves not only the cyber and digital security of organisations, but also the crisis resilience of society as a whole,” says exercise director Hanna Heikkinen of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
The exercise will be held for the eighth time in November. Hundreds of organisations from different sectors will be participating in the nationwide exercise, which is organised by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
Practical training for dealing with the real thing
Taisto is not a competition - it is an exercise that allows organisations to test their operating models safely and securely. The exercise increases the ability and confidence of personnel to act in critical situations.
This year’s themes include:
- data protection and security breaches
- what to do in the event of an incident
- influence attempts and targeted scam campaigns
- challenges involving cloud computing, artificial intelligence and deepfake technology.
Exercise is open and free of charge to all organisations
The Taisto exercise will be held every Thursday in November. More than 380 organisations have already registered, and a total of more than 4000 people will be participating in the exercise. The exercise is open and free of charge to all actors.
