Scytáles Ab selected to implement Suomi.fi Wallet technical solutions

In 2027, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency is publishing Suomi.fi Wallet, with the technical implementation being entrusted to Scytáles Ab. The Digital and Population Data Services Agency is responsible for Suomi.fi Wallet and its development.

Suomi.fi Wallet, which will operate on smart devices, will improve secure digital services in Finland and in the European Union. Its functions will include strong identification online, creation of electronic signatures, and sharing of data about yourself reliably and securely in different services in Finland and throughout the EU.  Services are intended to be added to the Wallet in phases, as different authorities begin to provide various electronic certificates and documents through it.

The Suomi.fi Wallet can be used by Finnish citizens and persons permanently residing in Finland. The application will be free to download and optional to use.

On 5 June 2026, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency published a call for tenders to find a technical solution provider for the key parts of Suomi.fi Wallet, i.e. the background systems and the actual mobile application. We received tenders from nine prospective providers.

The tenderers may appeal the decision.  Appeals are accepted until 16 July 2026.
