Social media at the Digital and Population Data Services Agency

We have a presence on social media to interact with our customers and the society around us. We post content about our services and advice on how to use them smoothly. We also share what’s going on in our agency and on what working here is like.

We follow the discourse on social media as part of our media services. The Communications and Marketing unit maintains, uses and develops our social media profiles. The Digital and Population Data Services Agency also maintains the Suomi.fi social media channels.
 

Rules for social media channels and webinars

Our task in central government is to make accurate and reliable information available. Our values – courage, appreciation and trust – also guide us on social media and our webinars. We take others into account and discuss things in an appropriate manner. Thank you for working with us under the same principles! 

On our agency’s social media channels

  • We respect each other's opinions. We do not engage in name-calling.
  • We talk appropriately and do not use vulgarity or profanities.
  • We protect people's privacy and do not discuss anybody's matters publicly. 

Inappropriate messages will be removed if our rules are not followed. Moderator actions are not announced to posters.

  • We will remove messages that are racist or otherwise insulting to people, a community, a religion, or race.
  • We will remove messages that contain links to unlawful material or which are based on inappropriate material or disinformation.
  • Spam, marketing or advertising messages will also be removed.

The communications of a user who repeatedly violates the guidelines may be blocked. Being blocked is not announced to users. If necessary, we will block a person's access to our social media channels or webinars.

LinkedIn

On LinkedIn, we participate in the societal discourse and produce content for experts in our field on topics such as digitalisation. We also talk about what it is like to work at the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

Facebook

On Facebook, we talk about our services to private customers, and in the Digital Supporters group, we share information with people that work in digital support.

Instagram

On Instagram, we showcase our services for people in an easy-going manner and explain what our everyday work is like at the Love Agency.

X (formerly Twitter)

On X, we share the articles and press releases that we publish on our website. If necessary, we also share information on disruptions. Otherwise, we do not have an active presence on this channel.

YouTube

We post videos about our services on YouTube. We also provide an archive of some of our webinars. 

Threads

We are currently trialling Threads. We share information about some of our services for private customers.

We share information on Suomi.fi services and content on the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s LinkedIn and on the specific Suomi.fi social media channels. There is content for both citizens, companies and communities.

Customer service is available online and by phone – not on social media

Keep in mind that we do not provide customer service through social media. If you have questions about our services or need help, you can contact our Customer Service by phone or email, depending on the service.
