More detailed information on technical accessibility

The online service is not yet fully accessible.

Content or features that are not yet accessible

  • The heading hierarchy is inconsistent, and texts that are semantically not headings have been marked as headings. (WCAG 1.3.1, 2.4.6)

  • There are some inaccurate and nondescriptive link texts. (WCAG 2.4.4)

  • Some of the images do not have appropriate alternative texts, and decorative images have not been marked as such. (WCAG 1.1.1)

  • The status of sections in forms has been communicated using colour alone. (WCAG 1.4.1)

  • One of the colour combinations used in the online service does not meet the minimum colour contrast requirement. (WCAG 1.4.3)

  • Keyboard focus is not visible in certain user interface elements. (WCAG 2.4.7)

  • There is no method for bypassing blocks of navigation. (WCAG 2.4.1)

  • The focus order is not logical. When loading some pages, the focus is placed on a random element, and sometimes the focus is placed in a way that the updating of content on the page is not announced via assistive technologies. (WCAG 1.3.2, 2.4.3)

  • The time limit is not announced via assistive technologies, and it is not manageable by the user. (WCAG 2.2.1)

  • The page title remains the same on each page. (WCAG 2.4.2)

  • There is no keyboard access to all the user interface elements.  (WCAG 2.1.1)

  • The language of the English version of the online service has not been marked properly. The Finnish and Swedish versions have some terminology in English which has not been marked properly. (WCAG 3.1.1, 3.1.2)

  • There are certain user interface elements which cannot be programmatically determined. For example, the search field, form elements and certain components do not have an associated label. There is no notification of required form fields. The form elements have not been grouped appropriately. The status of radio buttons is not interpreted correctly. The tabs have been implements as links, which means that the hierarchical structure of the tabs is not communicated appropriately via assistive technologies. The main menu is not announced correctly via assistive technologies. The expandable sections are not announced correctly via assistive technologies. (WCAG 1.3.1, 4.1.2)

  • All status messages are not announced via assistive technologies, for example error messages, success notifications and search results. There is no confirmation on adding or removing attached files. (WCAG 4.1.3)

An effort will be made to correct the shortcomings listed in this statement during 2020.
