The following information is included in the certificate when you order a standard certificate via the self-service. A standard certificate means that the certificate always contains the same information and the selected optional information:

  • Name
  • Date of birth (or personal identity code)
  • Marital status
  • Address
  • Your current spouse’s name, date of birth and the date of the marriage ceremony for your current marriage.

In addition, you can select your former names and the start and end dates of your former marriages on the certificate.

If you need other family relationship information, order the certificate by online form, email or phone.

If you need information about the place of the marriage ceremony or the officiator who performed the ceremony on the certificate, you can order a comprehensive marriage certificate duplicate from the officiator. If the wedding took place at the Digital and Population Data Services Agency or magistrate, you can order a certificate using an online form on the Comprehensive marriage certificate website. Information about the place of the marriage or the officiator is not available on the basic marriage certificate, as this information is not registered in the Population Information System. For more information about the comprehensive marriage certificate please visit the Comprehensive marriage certificate website.
