Many associations use services provided by an authority, for example, when seeking funding, applying for a money collection permit or filing tax returns. With the reform introduced in the autumn, it is now easier for associations to authorise individuals to act on behalf of the association in authorities’ digital services with Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.

The reform affects tens of thousands of registered associations

Associations may now independently authorise individuals to use authorities’ services if the association is represented by two members together according to its authority to sign rule. In the past, this has only applied to associations whose authority to sign rules allow the chair to represent the association independently.

The reform that facilitates associations’ use of digital services applies to tens of thousands of associations. Now around 90% of associations may authorise individuals independently.

Naturally, obtaining Suomi.fi e-Authorizations is not necessary if the association does not use services provided by authorities.

Suomi.fi e-Authorization instructions for associations are now less ambiguous

Suomi.fi e-Authorization instructions for associations have also been made less ambiguous. The instructions explain the members of the association that can authorise and act on behalf of the association and the kind of authorisations associations usually need.

If a service or another party has provided instructions for associations on Suomi.fi e-Authorizations on their website, it is a good idea to review the instructions and add a link to Suomi.fi instructions.
