The new Ministry of Finance Decree on Fees Charged for Digital and Population Data Services Agency Performances in 2025 has been published. As a result, the public sector price list for the Data extraction for municipalities will change starting January 1, 2025. The price changes are available in the "Price list" section of this website.
Data extraction for municipalities
Data extraction is a self-service application offered to municipalities, which makes it possible to extract personal data needed by the municipality for the performance of its statutory tasks and to contact inhabitants of the municipality.
Get to know the data permit before applying. The data permit is only available in Finnish and Swedish.

Every organisation must choose at least one responsible user for VTJkysely. The responsible user is in charge of user management, for example adding new users, updating user information and making sure the access rights of the users are applicable.

- Implementation fee EUR 300 (effective from 1.1.2025: EUR 600)
- Minimum charge EUR 7 / invoice / month (effective from 1.1.2025: EUR 9 / invoice / month)
- Fixed user-specific monthly fee per username EUR 1
- Price per sampling EUR 20 per sample (effective from 1.1.2025: EUR 22 per sample)
- Price per data unit from the Population system EUR 0,05 per data unit (effective from 1.1.2025: EUR 0.055 per data unit)
If your information needs concern residents who have left the municipality or temporary residents, the right service is the Public administration sampling and updating service.
