Service certificates are software certificates granted by the Digital and Population Data Services Agency used to authenticate a service provider’s service or server. Service certificates can be used to authenticate both public administration and private sector services.
The Digital and Population Data Services Agency produces service certificates and system signature certificates needed for the use of Kanta Services for social welfare and healthcare organisations.
There are also test certificates available that are intended for use in test environments.
Service certificates are based on the X.509 standard and they can be used to enable SSL protected data transfers between a browser and server or between two servers.
DVV offers its customers the opportunity to switch to ACME in their service certificate production. Learn more about ACME here.
The Digital and Population Data Services Agency is the only agent in Finland that offers EU-accepted QWAC-certificates (Qualified website authentication certificate).
A server certificate allows the web service user to verify the authenticity of the service provider. Service certificates also facilitate the encryption of data exchange between a server and its user.
A system signature certificate is used to sign electronically documents that are not signed using personal certificates.
The VTJ query interface customer certificate is needed when one wishes to integrate the VTJ query interface with the organisations own information system.
Seal service interface certificates are client certificates required for authentication between the customer's system and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency's seal service.
E-mail certificates are needed in an organisation for the use of individual e-mail addresses monitored by numerous people. With the certificate you can receive encrypted messages and sign email that you send.
Organisations that wish to join the Kanta system need server certificates for using the ePrescription and eArchive services. A server certificate is required for establishing a TLS-encrypted data link between the organisation’s server and Kanta servers.
A system signature certificate is required of users of the Kanta eArchive service.
System signature certificates are used to enter electronic signatures in private health care documents that are not signed using personal health care certificates. Private health care providers need to have a certified information system included in the register of the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health.
Service certificates for wellbeing applications are intended for the use of wellbeing applications in the MyKanta Pages Personal Health Record (PHR). They enable Kela to identify the servers of PHR systems of other parties and to protect the transfer of data patients have collected on themselves. A tested and certified application is a prerequisite for connecting.
