Authorisation with an application (mandate service provided by officials)

When should a mandate be registered via a mandate application?

The mandate service provided by officials is intended for situations where the assignor cannot grant or invalidate mandates independently in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations. You can create a mandate by submitting a mandate application.

For example, the following parties authorise with a mandate application

  • foreign companies
  • organisations in public administration and in municipalities
  • persons who do not have means of electronic identification.

You can terminate mandates with an invalidation application.
The instructions and a list of the parties that must authorise with an application can be found in the Suomi.fi Web Service

A tip for organisations: first apply for the rights to grant mandates

A company or an organisation should first apply for the rights to grant mandates to their employees. Once the rights to grant mandates have been registered, those with the right to grant a mandate will be able to:

  • grant and invalidate mandates for transactions
  • manage mandates independently in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations.

After this, the organisation will no longer need the mandate service provided by officials for these mandate themes.
A new mandate application is always needed for new mandate themes.
