Service certificates

The Digital and Population Data Services Agency is the only agent in Finland that offers EU-accepted QWAC-certificates (Qualified website authentication certificate).

A server certificate allows the web service user to verify the authenticity of the service provider. Service certificates also facilitate the encryption of data exchange between a server and its user.

A system signature certificate is used to sign electronically documents that are not signed using personal certificates.

The Customer certificate (VTJ query interface customer certificate) is needed when one wishes to integrate the interface with the organisations own information system.

Seal service interface certificates are client certificates required for authentication between the customer's system and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency's seal service.

E-mail certificates are needed in an organisation for the use of individual e-mail addresses monitored by numerous people. With the certificate you can receive encrypted messages and sign email that you send.

Organisations that wish to join the Kanta system need server certificates for using the ePrescription and eArchive services. A server certificate is required for establishing a TLS-encrypted data link between the organisation’s server and Kanta servers.

A system signature certificate is required of users of the Kanta eArchive service.

Private health care providers need to have a certified information system included in the register of the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health.
